Music News - 2010 NZ Music Managers Awards - Finalists Announced

The finalists for the 2010 NZ Music Managers awards have been announced. Based on the achievements of the managers’ bands in 2009, the judging panel (made up of 15 music industry professionals) all commented on the strength of the entries this year, validating the increasing professionalism and growth of the NZ Management community.
The awards will be presented on Tuesday May 11th in Auckland and will be celebrating exceptional artist management and presenting awards to ‘Manager of the Year’, ‘Upcoming Manager of the Year’, ‘Regional Manager of the Year’ for North Island and South Island, ‘Self Managed Artist of the Year’ and ‘Industry Champion’.
The evening will be MC’d by Dave Gibson from Elemeno P, and awards presented by New Zealand Music Managers Forum (NZMMF) members’ artists including Dane Rumble, P Money, Deja Voodoo, Ivy Lies and Lisa Crawley.
The finalists for the 2010 Music Manager Awards are:
2010 Manager of the Year:

· Rebecca Caughey – Funktion Music (Ladi 6, Shapeshifter, Recloose)
· Lorraine Barry – Lorraine Barry Management (Dave Dobbyn, Bic Runga, LA Mitchell, Dukes, Mark Vanilau)
· Ingrid Round – Dirty Management (P-Money, Opensouls, PNC, Concord Dawn, State of Mind)
· Matt Coleman – Let the People Speak (Midnight Youth, Dane Rumble, Ivy Lies, Steriogram, Lisa Crawley, Artisan Guns, Jonny Love)
2010 Upcoming Manager of the Year

2010 Regional Manager of the Year– North Island

Prizes include $10,000 Juice TV campaign, A Scholarship Recording of a Single to Professional Release standard from The Rock Factory, b-net radio campaigns and Rip It Up and Groove Guide magazine advertising and a trip to the Big Sound Conference in Brisbane.
The 2010 New Zealand Music Managers awards will take place in Auckland on Tuesday 11th May at the Backbeat Bar, above the Rock Shop, KRd from 6.00pm.
