Sunreturn announces vinyl compilation 'See You On The Horizon'

16 February 2022 - 0 Comments

Sunreturn is an independent record label based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. Established in 2019, Sunreturn strives to amplify the work of artists who find freedom in imagining new and unique sounds.

To celebrate the community that has formed as part of Sunreturn, we are proud to announce See You On The Horizon, a compilation of ten tracks, that span the early years of the label. See You On The Horizon will be available on 140g black vinyl, and digitally on March 25.

PRE-ORDER NOW

Side A features the warm bedroom pop of I Love My Friends by K M T P (from the EP P. S. C U Soon), the earnest indie of Dateline's Dumb For My Age (from their upcoming debut, expected for release in 2022), Babyteeth's queerbo pop-punk classic Poser (from 2021 EP of the same name), the noisy jangle of Runaway by N. T. Honey (taken from 2021's Accidental Punk) and the furious skramz of Shadow by Long Distance Runner (a track that features on upcoming album, expected for release in 2022).

Side B spotlights the sugary breakbeats of Student Radio Network Award winner Amamelia with her track So Good (from her debut album Wow!), the experimental pop of Baby Zionov and her unintentional lockdown anthem Clubbing In The Time Of Cholera (from the EP .... And You Are the Bitch), the imaginative synths and funked rhythms of Power Nap's Club Dinos (from his upcoming mini album Dinosaurs), Dbldbl's crisp alternative hip hop on Big Mike (feat. L V J & PollyHill), and the lush electronics of Green Grove's Time (a standout track from his album Machine Music).

In a recent interview with Flying Nun , Sunreturn label founder Zac Arnold said "Now that the label is a couple of years in, I'm constantly reminded of the power of collective action. Nothing happens in a vacuum, and I'm grateful for the communities that have engaged with Sunreturn and the musicians we work with."

Sunreturn's See You On The Horizon was pressed to 140g black vinyl by Holiday Records, Aotearoa's only purpose-built boutique plant. Vinyl copies come with a bonus See You On The Horizon bumper sticker, and A3 poster. Edition of 300.
