Hans Pucket Share Video For 'I Don’t Know What To Get You For Christmas (Do I Really Love You?)'

21 December 2021 - 0 Comments

Hans Pucket share a new two-shot video for festive single I Don't Know What To Get You For Christmas (Do I Really Love You?) from 7" I Don't Know What To Get You For Christmas (Do I Really Love You?) / Drink With My Friends. A Sports Team production, the video was directed by actor and filmmaker Samuel Austin, assistant directed by Wellington filmmaker Will Agnew (also Santa), and edited by Callum Devlin. Shot between Dixon Street and Pukerua Bay in early December.

The first run of lathe cut records, hand cut by Ōtautahi genius Johnny Electric of Ride On Super Sound, have already sold out! Another short run is now available to pre-order via the Hans Pucket Bandcamp - although they won't be ready until late January.

Also on the band's horizon is their Confidently Test Out New Material tour in April 2022 with support from Minisnap, Bub, Bonita, T.G. Shand, Koizilla + Mystery Waitress.

From Samuel Austin on shooting the video:
"Hans pucket are such a pleasure to work with - between Oli, Callum and the rest of the band I’m always amazed at their willingness to go with any of my silly ideas - especially when those ideas involve potentially making a snowy mess in a public place without permission. And especially when those ideas demand performances you’d expect from actors! They always give me their best and I try to give my best back to them :)"

From Oliver Devlin:
“We tried to film this all in one shot, so in a way this is Hans Pucket's 1917."

These shows promise all the wonders of Hans Pucket’s four-piece lineup. Callum Passells will bring his saxophone and keyboard wizardry to the group. There will be music from their upcoming album; there will be cool new merch; there will be a moment in the set where Jono Nott plays a guitar solo and everyone claps; Oli will forget some lyrics and try to ask Callum Devlin what they are mid-song.

The band is eager to reacquaint themselves with audiences up and down the country, and introduce new songs with their trademark confidence and pep. They aren’t pushing the boat out too far for this one, they’re just getting back out there and playing their thrilling live set, to a good, keen crowd.

Callum Devlin: "It’s exciting. I can’t believe it’s been more than two years since we last 'hit the road'. We’ve really levelled up as a band since Callum [Passells] joined, so I can anticipate some minds being blown, to be quite honest."

Oliver Devlin: "We’re so lucky to get to do this, can’t wait to get out and see some friends and have a boogie!"
