Sam V announces new single for release on November 6

26 October 2021 - 0 Comments

Set for release on November 6, Biker Boy is Sam V's second solo release for 2021.

An externality of Auckland's ongoing lockdown, Y$O's R&B honcho Sam V elected to respond by setting up an online songwriting community on a Discord server alongside Y$O producer CreationKit (TJ Buford). Biker Boy was the first song Sam V penned in the first session, as an exemplar of his songwriting process to attendees from around the world. Upon posting a snippet on Instagram, Sam V realised the track was resonating strongly with people.

Sam V's delicate vocals, layering and intricate harmonies sit at the forefront of a beat produced by Auckland's Astro (Aaron Strickland), a modern interpretation of the R&B-Ballad. Biker Boy paints a bleak depiction of a relationship breakdown, reflection and attempting to find understanding in both perspectives. Both verses offer differing views (voices).

2021 has been a steady year for the growing R&B star, having featured on The Panthers album and releasing Y%O's debut self-titled project; but as all Biker Boy's do, Sam V keeps pedalling.
