Adam Tukiri Releases New Track For His Son - ‘Little Man’

15 October 2021 - 0 Comments

Today on his birthday, Adam Tukiri shares his final release for the year, Little Man, a track that flows on from his successful album Son. Little Man is written as a message for his son, when he gets older. The track instrumental is a lullaby-style tune, with Adam using self-reflection to explain to his son that he can go on to do what he wants to do with his life.

“It's a song about my little dude, I don't think I really made one solid song for him. Not even on an album centred around the super early stages of parenthood”.

Son was shortlisted in the Top 20 of the Apra Silver Scrolls and nominated for Best Māori Hip Hop album at the Waiata Māori Music Awards. Completely produced, mixed & mastered by Adam Tukiri, Son was initially created as a contrast to his previous release Belial which was the last album released under the Dharmarat moniker. The album manifested into something different and ended up meaning more now that he actually has a son who was born in January of 2021.

Adam Tukiri is a rapper and producer from South Auckland, who created quite a name for himself under his previous moniker Dharmarat. There is just as much range in his discography as he has projects under his belt, having released 21 projects as Dharmarat, if you include his work with his group Valleyside Boys.

Adam Tukiri is bringing the focus back to the music and letting it speak for itself.

With all the new changes, Adam has chosen to take a different approach with his releases - no social media linked to the change and no pre-publicity etc. “I’m so removed from numbers now, so I’m not going to entertain them as much anymore.” Adam is still looking to perform and do some publicity but without the pressure of social media or trying to “blow-up”.
