Music News - New Single for Viices to be released on July 12

New Single for Viices to be released on July 12

25 June 2021 - 0 Comments

Following the releases of Double Denim and Jess Song, the latest single from Viices is dropping on Monday 12 July 2021.

Breath signals a new direction for Viices that is much more rooted in rock and punk rather than indie. This is a reflection of the fact that Viices has grown from the solo project of frontman Jake McComb to a three-piece band that has been performing around Wellington. As such, they are celebrating the release with a gig at Valhalla on Wednesday 14 July, with support from Sure Boy and Charlie Whack. For full event details click here.

Breath deals with the frustration of imposter syndrome and difficulty of balancing creativity with the reality of needing to work - but the lyrics are also tongue-in-cheek, with Jake lightly mocking himself for being so dramatic. While the genre may be a bit of a change, there’s still plenty of familiar style both lyrically and musically to Viices’ earlier work, as well as the creative input from Sam Johnson at Rhythm Ace Studio in Taranaki who has produced all of Viices’ recent tracks.
