Christchurch Band Mudbelly Release New Single

10 May 2021 - 0 Comments

Christchurch dirty blues band Mudbelly's latest track is a little less grimy and possibly a little more enjoyably dysfunctional than their previous releases. Baby U No Good inventively bemoans the pitfalls of falling for the wrong guy (or girl or thing - let’s be open minded here people!!). The lyrics, growled out in the sassy style of lead vocalist Bex B, may well strike a nostalgic chord in many of us. All while the sliding bass riff takes a firm grip of your innards.

The track, however, is just half of the show. The accompanying music video with its off-beat use of vintage horror clips brings a surprising comic twist to the theme. With the band seamlessly spliced into a black and white tapestry of vampires, ghouls and general bad asses, it’s a fair bet that the video is unlike any other you may have seen previously. Sit back, relax and enjoy a sweet n sour cocktail of nostalgic bad-assery.

“Gritty, nostalgic, sexy rock - Five Stars *****” Corrine Rutherford - muzic.net.nz
