Music News - Tag Your Folks this May

Tag Your Folks this May

21 April 2021 - 0 Comments

Kiwi musicians have got you covered! This NZ music month 21 independent artists have formed a collective to celebrate each other’s music. Each weekday, follow the chain to hear a new cover by one of your favourites.

#tagyourfolks is the brainchild of free time in quarantine. 2020 felt like a barrage of closed doors for musicians as festivals and album launches were postponed, postponed again and then cancelled. We wanted to find a way to bring artists and audiences together safely, so we came up with the #tagyourfolks collective.

This year we’re back bigger and better with a chain of 21 artists honouring each other’s music by releasing their own take on a favourite song. Featuring artists such as Albi & The Wolves, Looking For Alaska, Geoff Ong and The RVMES, listeners will be offered a smorgasbord of genres, talent and kiwi ingenuity this #NZmusicmonth.

The chain starts with the dreamy Echo Children, who are set to release their cover of The RVMES on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube the 3rd of May.
