Music News - NZ artist Thomas Oliver lands 'Track Of The Week' on BBC Radio1 Drum and Bass show

A remix of NZ artist Thomas Oliver's latest single Friendly Fire has last night been chosen as track of the week on BBC Radio1's Drum and Bass show with René LaVice.
The programme, which is considered to be the biggest Drum and Bass show on the planet, was live on BBC Radio1 last night (26 Jan) and can be streamed online via this link.
UK Drum and Bass legend Danny Byrd is responsible for the remix which LaVice described as 'a fun one... strategicially designed to make you feel good right now'. He goes on to say 'this is a track that just makes me feel absolutely elated, makes me feel like running around outside in the sunshine finding rainbows and cuddling things...a banger'. Byrd took Thomas Oliver's original festival-fueled single and gave it a hard-hitting, rave-style drum and bass flavour.
The track has been released by NZ independent label Tenfold Records on January 15, 2021 and local radio stations like George FM or Radio One 91FM Dunedin have supported the track right from the start. The release has also been backed by prestigious UK based Drum and Bass label Hospital Records by sharing the music video, which was filmed at Thomas Oliver's Mardi Gras festival headline show in November 2020, on their popular YouTube Channel.
Thomas has a long-standing connection with Hospital Records, having released several collabs on this label, and having featured in several music videos on the Hospital channels, so to team up with another Hospital artist serves to continue this connection, and the resulting remix is bright, vibrant and bouncy, but with a dark and wide and monstrous bassline to boot.
