Music News - Dharmarat releases new single & announces new album

"The song is basically me questioning people's loyalty, when I feel like I've had my flow and cadence used by artists without my permission. It’s also about my frustrations with tall-poppy syndrome in the country. Just a good outpour of rage with an instrumental I created out of only 808’s, drums and a trap FX transition."
After just recently releasing his single Roam, Dharmarat is back with
his new single Geewhizz and the remix. These tracks accompany Roam on his new album Belial which is set to be released on October 9th.
Dharmarat wanted to release Geewhizz similar to
how he remembers CD's as a kid, with the original track and a remix. He has never been afraid to be vocal on how he feels.
The Geewhizz video was directed, shot and edited by Connor Pritchard.
"The whole project is about letting go of all the negative energy I still have inside, from my childhood to now. I tried to make a soundtrack to my childhood basically. I brush over some of the darkest moments of my life and let out the anxiety & PTSD the best way I could. The album is full of screaming, something I've never really done to this extent till now."
The album will be available on all streaming platforms on October 9th via DRM NZ. Merchandise and a release show are in the works.
Dharmarat has been nominated for Best Hip-Hop Album by a Maori artist at the National Waiata Maori Music Awards. This is the first award he has been nominated for, for his music.
