Kiwi band TOI has today premiered a poignant and moving video for their new single Thinking Too Much, capturing the song’s sentiment of “love over fear”.

A timely nod to all that’s going on in the world, Thinking Too Much is a reminder to relax and enjoy life with those that you trust and love.
Made by Wellington creative Lee Gingold, the video creates a hypnotizing rhythm, which makes way for a spiritual pre-dawn moment for Mallory the humpback whale.
“Like the song, the video is all about the beauty that can arise from an absence of words and thought. We wanted to create a moment that exists outside the worries of the world - away from the constant news cycle and the concerns that can easily fill all of our time.”
“I hope that the video will help people to remember the magic that is inside of us and all around in every moment,” says Lee.
The new single Thinking Too Much marks a change of direction for TOI (formerly Tunes of I). It lays down the foundations for the Wellington-based band’s upcoming EP made with executive producer Devin Abrams (Drax Project, Pacific Heights, ex-Shapeshifter).
“We still have our original sound in there, because it’s fundamental to who we are, but we are now heading into a new future of dance and electro-funk. We came together over our love of music we are inspired by; Acts such as TrinityRoots, Kora, The Black Seeds and Fat Freddy’s Drop. However, this newest incarnation of our band marks a modern development of our vibe and style.”
