Magnetic Funk are a 5 peice live funk and soul outfit from Christchurch. Forming late 2003, they have gone on to build a solid reputaion through a variety of local gigs as one of Chch prime Funk and Soul groups. Influenced by mid 70s funk groups like the JBs, Parliament/Funkadelic and the Meters, with the added touch of late 70s soul through the groups lead vocalist, Christine Mei, Magnetic have a unique sound combining raw funk with smooth 70's soul
Up and Coming Gigs in Chch include the Dux De Lux on thursday the 8th of July and Home on the 22nd, with support from some of Christchuchs finest Funk, soul and house DJs incl. Snuggleuptogus, JD, Soulprovidah and Partido.
Catch Magnetic Funk on tour throughout August, Supporting PBass Expressway on the 'Easy Ride' tour 2004.

Magnetic Funk definitley fall into the 'Up and Coming' catogory for 2004.
