Gig & Concert News - Kong Fooey and DJ Suno get festive in Kingsland this Friday December 6th

Kong Fooey and DJ Suno get festive in Kingsland this Friday December 6th

03 December 2019 - 0 Comments

Kong Fooey and DJ Suno bring the festive spirit to Kingsland’s Portland Public House this Friday December 6th – at the very festive price of zero dollars.

From their very first show, Kong Fooey has been filling dancefloors with high-energy performances. Kong Fooey’s first gig was at the Christchurch Beer Festival playing for 12,000 people before Supergroove hit the stage. They’ve also played Sounds on the Oval playing with TrinityRoots, Tiki Taane, The Black Seeds and David Dallas.

DJ Suno has been bringing music, art, food and drinks to the good people of Auckland City since 2009, and is a regular at Ponsonby Social Club’s Ante-Social club nights.

Kong Fooey is the alter ego of drummer/producer Jason Peters, formerly of 90’s rock legends Pumpkinhead, and currently also with heavy rock band Hunt the Witch. Peters collaborates with an eclectic range of musicians and singers creating infectious dance tracks which just as well in the club and on your stereo.

Kong Fooey’s debut album Final Destination released in 2015 received excellent reviews, and single The Beast was included on the March 2017 NZ on Air New Tracks Disc.

Second album Feel the Love came out in May this year, and this review may give you an idea of how much fun it is to listen to:

“With the release of his new full-length album Feel the Love, Peters continues to build himself as one of dance music’s more exciting names…He flips seamlessly between neo-soul, full-fledged funk, and vibrant electro, roping it all together with an irresistible energy.” - Happy magazine Australia

“I could use the ubiquitous term of calling this album a “banger”. But it is more than that…Infectious is a good word to describe Feel The Love. Kong Fooey have smashed it out with this stunner.”Muzic.net.nz
