Gig & Concert News - Mama Tilly - 'The New'

22 May 2010 - 0 Comments

Mama Tilly – think sophistication, feminine and wild with two fingers up to conformity. Creating music from their mutual love of soul, blues and punk rock, these five diverse women fuse their influences with attitude and take it to the stage; enjoying what they play and being who they are – together!

Founding band members Lisa Tagaloa (Bass & Vocals), Lauren King (Guitar), and Georgina Swan-Hay (Drums) studied together at Wellington’s acclaimed Whitireia Music School. Singer/songwriter Mahinarangi Maika (Vocals) and New Zealand School of Music graduate Ila Scott (Keys & Vocals) joined the band in 2009, consolidating the synergy of raw emotion that is Mama Tilly.

“THE NEW” unveils Mama Tilly’s creative evolution of style and sound. This ‘not to be missed’ event will be held at The Ruby Lounge, 14 Bond Street, in Wellington on Saturday 12th June 2010, 8.30pm.

Be in quick to secure your tickets online, as there will be limited door sales.
