Gig & Concert News - Midwave Breaks & Rockshop partnership to support Local Music

Midwave Breaks & Rockshop partnership to support Local Music

22 March 2023 - 0 Comments

Tauranga Alt-Rock duo Midwave Breaks are hitting the road in May for a 9 date tour of Aotearoa across NZ Music Month, and they want your local band to be the Special Guest Artist at the nearest show to your city!

So if you’re a local band looking to go further, here’s an opportunity to help you break through, with an opening performance as part of the Midwave Breaks NZ Tour 2023!

Drummer Paul Russell explains the motivation: "We’re still emerging ourselves with this project, but both Bruce and myself have been around the industry for a long time before Midwave Breaks, and we’d love to help shine a light on other artists around the country. NZ Music Month is a perfect time to do that”.

To put your band forward you’ll need to submit the following:

- Band or Solo Act Name (Who’s in the band are where you’re from)

- A short biography on the band/solo act

- A high-res band pic

- A link to your music (website, socials, YouTube, Spotify, Soundcloud, Dropbox etc.)

Any local band or solo artist aged 18+ can apply, but bear in mind, you’ll need at least 30 minutes of original material, and you need to fit the bill in terms of style and sound.

Send your submission to:

[email protected] by Friday April 14th at 5pm

Thanks to the legends at Rockshop, each Special Guest Artist chosen in each city will receive a $200 Rockshop Voucher, plus $150 cash and a double-pass giveaway for each member of the band (courtesy of Midwave Breaks).

Selected Special Guest Artists will be contacted by email.

Midwave Breaks are super excited to share the stage with emerging local talent across the Motu in celebration of NZ Music Month. Huge thanks to the team at Rockshop for helping bring the noise in support of local music!
