After breaking the news at the sold out Super Rugby Pacific Grand Final at Eden Park on Saturday night, Six60 are stoked to reveal the first support act on their Six60 Saturdays Stadium Tour.
In what
is a dream come true for Perth based Kiwi band of brothers Coterie, Six60 have handpicked them to open all six shows on the Six60 Saturdays stadium tour kicking off this October. These shows will be the first
ever shows on New Zealand soil for the Māori siblings of Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Te Rāngi descent making the occasion even more momentous.
It is a story of manawanui or perseverance for Coterie. They have been making music
together for 15 years, but it wasn’t until last year in which the boys piqued the interest of Six60. With their hearts set on opening for Six60 on their Australian tour, Coterie set about getting the bands attention by uploading videos of themselves
singing Six60 covers and tagging the band all with the aim of getting Six60 to notice them and pick them as tour openers.
It worked.
Not only did Coterie get to open for Six60 on tour, they got to share the stage with them at sold out shows across Australia in front of thousands of fans, and have since been writing and jamming together. And now the dream continues as Coterie are announced as the first support act on all six stadium shows throughout Aotearoa.

Their first hit single Cool It Down is certified Gold in Aotearoa, has spent
over four months in NZ’s Top 10 Radio Airplay chart, peaking at #3 overall and spending over 3 weeks at #1 in the Official New Zealand Hot Singles chart. Showing no signs of stopping, Coterie have amassed more than 5 million streams, over 250k YouTube
views and upwards of 49k TikTok followers, while forming a steadily growing army of fans in their wake. Their most recent single Killing It Off also
hit #1 on the Official New Zealand Hot Singles chart and is on track to be another smash hit!
Coterie blends an authentic mix of surf rock, soul, R&B, roots/reggae and the blues into heartfelt melodies that unite audiences by a mysterious
power. Between lead singer Tyler’s powerhouse vocals, bassist Brandford’s playful low end to Joshua’s all-encompassing mood and Conrad’s alluring riffs, Coterie are a musical force to be reckoned with.
Six60 Saturdays kicks
off on Saturday 29 October at Wellington’s Sky Stadium, before taking in McLean Park in Napier – the first ever concert to be held at the park on Saturday 5 November. Rotorua is up next
on Saturday 12 November followed by Eden Park on Saturday 19 November. The tour then heads to Te Wai Pounamu on Saturday 10 December at Orange Theory Stadium Christchurch before wrapping
up at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Saturday 4 March 2023.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now and with more support acts yet to be announced, Six60 Saturdays will be the biggest tour of Aotearoa
this summer.
