Mako Road reschedule remaining dates on the Stranger Days tour

30 November 2021 - 0 Comments

Fresh from being nominated for Best Rock Artist at the 2021 Aotearoa Music Awards, Mako Road are stoked to announce rescheduled shows for the remainder of the Stranger Days tour in Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch.

The band will play Wellington’s Shed 6 on Saturday 2nd April, Union Hall in Dunedin on Thursday 7th April and finally the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday 8th April 2022.

Fans who have purchased tickets to postponed shows in these cities can gain entry to these new show dates with their original ticket.

Fans who are unable to attend the new show dates can obtain a full refund from their original point of purchase.

Mako Road kicked off their Stranger Days tour in Auckland last August with two massive sold out shows at the Powerstation, and then played stomping sets in Hamilton, Tauranga and Napier before the latest COVID-19 lockdown. They were just getting warmed up….

“For a four piece band you really don’t miss out on any sound. Their solos are so melodic, short and sweet and not over complex. And that’s what makes them so memorable and singalongable which is such a stand out aspect of their music.” 13th Floor

The long-awaited debut album Stranger Days (out now) brilliantly captures the band’s epic indie-rock sound and includes earlier singles Helicopter, Surfing on Mars, Don’t Keep Me Waiting, Stranger Days and now Anywhere You'd Like To Go. It was recorded in the renowned & secluded studio environment of Wellington’s The Surgery and produced by the band’s guitarist/singer Rhian Ward and bassist, Connor Jaine. It was engineered by James Goldsmith (Mermaidens, Beastwars, Into Orbit) and mastered by Chris Chetland (Savage, Snoop Dogg, Lorde, Drax Project, Scribe).

The album is fast becoming a global summer favourite for fans and critics.

“The debut cements the band’s reputation as the most exciting independent act on the horizon.”

“Following on from their ceaseless touring schedule that hasn’t stopped yet, their hazy and explosive live set becomes a smooth translation within this 8 track collection. “ Sniffers
