Gig & Concert News - Steve Hackett postponed to 2022

Steve Hackett postponed to 2022

09 April 2021 - 0 Comments

Steve Hackett and David Roy Williams Entertainment have rescheduled Steve’s Australian and New Zealand dates to the first half of 2022. The tour has regrettably been postponed due to difficulties getting Steve and band into the countries.

Now bringing in a bigger and better show, not only will Steve being performing Selling England By the Pound in its entirety, but Steve will now also be performing our favourite Genesis live album Seconds Out featuring The Carpet Crawlers, Afterglow, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Suppers Ready and more!

“We’ve been wanting to come back to Australia and New Zealand so much, and whilst the unavoidable postponements are disappointing, we know the anticipation will be such that when we do finally get there, the concerts will be so much sweeter. We are really looking forward to bringing back live music to you all,” - Steve Hackett

Fans holding tickets should hear from the ticketing companies within the next few days to confirm that tickets held are valid for the new dates and that seating will remain as originally allocated.

Steve Hackett, as the powerhouse guitarist for one of the most important progressive rock bands ever, has been a guiding influence for musicians and guitarists for over 40 years.

Following the one/two punch of Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot, both driven by the muscular guitars of new member Steve Hackett, Genesis were ready to launch what would become their finest album, Selling England By the Pound.

Easing back on the throttle marginally, and immersing themselves in English whimsy and eccentricity, Genesis delivered just under an hour of delicate prose, wondrous melodies and, of course, the soaring leadlines of Steve Hackett.

Finally, now, 48 years after the album’s release, Steve Hackett will be performing Selling England By the Pound in full in a series of Australian concerts.

In addition, Steve will be performing the critically acclaimed Seconds Out. Seconds Out was the final Genesis album released to feature Steve Hackett. The double live album featured a fans-favourites track-listing which is guaranteed to be ecstatically received on the upcoming shows.

Steve’s exceptional debut antipodean tour in 2017 left audiences stunned by the majestic performances by Hackett and his virtuoso band. How do you top that? Come witness the spectacle of Steve’s incendiary 2021 shows to see how it’s done.
