Recorded live as a band in Wellington and produced in Papamoa with Tiki Taane (Salmonella Dub, Six60, Dylan Frost) and then mixed with Simon Gooding (Ed Sheeran, Neil Finn, Dua Lipa), the track is an instant classic in the band’s catalogue
 
Washes of synth pads begin and then crescendo into a simple, minimal groove that builds under melodic flourishes and a lush vocal from the bands' legendary vocalist P.Digsss.
 
An ever-evolving journey of a track, always alluding and hinting at what is to come next, the breakdown then leads into a modern drum and bass rollout before adding back in the vocals and then increasing layers of synth, leads and melody.
 
A coda with a fresh vocal and a half time, dubbed-out groove fades the tune out like a sunset on a tranquil evening. Lightspeed is the 1st single of what will surely be an iconic Shapeshifter LP.
