NZ’s top drum and bass act Flowidus break into the mainstream with new single 'Shelter'

30 October 2020 - 0 Comments

One of New Zealand’s top drum and bass acts Flowidus have today released their new single Shelter under UK record label Elevate Records.

Listen HERE

A melodic dancefloor cut, Shelter opens with an atmospheric soundscape of nostalgic keys and a catchy synth riff, building to a euphoric climax, punctuated with the duo’s signature drums and synth combo.

"Awesome work, shame we can't play this banger out!" - Hybrid Minds
"Great work lads! Epic single" - Friction
"Great tune!" - DJ Marky
"Wicked, downloading!" - Andy C

The new tune follows in the footsteps of 2020 singles By Your Side, Wrong Boy Chat and Don’t Breathe In and takes Flowidus from dominating the Australasian market to the global stage.

The dynamic duo is made up of producers Raphael (based in Raglan) and Garo (based in Perth), who both have a following in their own right, including reworks for artists such as DC Breaks, Friction, Pendulum and Andy C.

Teaming up as Flowidus, it has been a whirlwind three years since the release of their debut EP Arrival, which saw them sign exclusively to Elevate Records. Following the EP’s success and the release of Horizon - their collaboration with Kiwi legend, Tiki Taane - the pair embarked on a sold-out AU/NZ tour, supporting their label boss Friction.

Their second EP Footsteps was released in 2019, receiving love from BBC Radio 1 and George FM, with their track Kids In The Club debuting at #9 on the NZ Hot 20 Singles Charts.

Successful shows in Europe at Liquicity festival, Hospitality on The Beach, and then countless dates across New Zealand, followed, as did the single ‘Said & Done’, featuring Raglan artists Reiki Ruawai. The track was the #1 most requested track on George FM for five consecutive weeks.
