Primal Battle of the Bands
Posted: Mon May 9, 2005 7:57 pm
This years Primal Battle of the Bands will be bigger than ever with top prizes up for grabs in the finals. For the last three years a strong show of support from local music acts has seen this event double in size from it conception.

“This is a great place for young people to realise their talent” says organiser Brendan Hall. Over the past 10 years he has worked in the music industry to develop and train young bands and musicians in their craft. Speaking from his experience as a recovering drug addict Brendan is “…concerned about todays youth” and sees music as “an opportunity to inspire young people towards positive goals”.

The Primal Battle of the Bands is one of the true community band competitions out there with hunderds of musicians taking part. Entrants must be under the age of 25 and there is a $50 entry fee for bands. Each band enters at heats in 13 locations around the country and 13 bands compete in the final. This years prize pool is around $5000 dollars with The Rockshop, Behringer, The Lab, Parachute Music, Shure, Life fm, Lion Nathan and Kick Start Records getting involved.
