Yewala Sound System

Over the last few years Nick D has spent the last few years travelling around the globe picking up some of the most exotic club sounds you'll find, and it's no secret that some of the most explosive rhythms rocking clubs around the world are coming from the mighty mighty continent of Africa. From the Kwaito of South Africa, the Kuduro of Angola, Coupe Decale from Cote De'Ivoire to the Funana that's blowing up in the tiny island Of Cape Verde. The Yewala Soundsystem promises to deliver you some of the most colourful and vibrant party sounds you've ever heard. Joining Nick D on stage are vocalists Yaw Boateng and Francois Bymana Aka Kunta hailing from Ghana & Rwanda and the magic behind local African band Zoh-Zoh. And with the addition Percussion and African Dancers you just know there's gonna be some seriously sweaty club vibes going down. Yewalaaaa.
Yam Jams

Yam Jams are believers on old disco, soul, hip-hop and electro staples. Mixing vintage acidhouse and techno, they showcase emerging genres like B-more breaks, kuduro, and fidget house. Yam Jams is one of the last club DJs in the country to still play the majority of their tracks on vinyl!

Ryan McPhun Of Ruby Suns and Lil Chief fame, Ryan McPhun in 2001 left the glistening Ventura highways to settle here in Auckland. Over the last few years his interest in all things Afro developed and he amassed a stunning collection of new wave old rave funk beats.
00AFRO

All the way from Nigeria, 00AFRO cut his teeth DJing in London clubs and on the legendary early UK pirate radio station Interface. Hell drop everything from Afrobeat to Jungle to Detroit Techno to Dubstep. Aka as OOgun he produces deep and mean Dubstep, released on his own Drunk Elephant label. Check out his Drunk Elephant show on Base FM every Sunday at 8pm!
Uncle Barnie

George FMs resident funk historian Uncle Barnie, is armed and ready to unleash his big ones and treat you to a death defying dose of original funk, soul and afrobeat!
