THE OUTSIDERS ANNOUNCE SHOWS IN AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON BEFORE UK/EUROPEAN TOUR

Rarely does a band generate as much interest and discussion in the first year of existence as The Outsiders (members of Sommerset, Ritalin and Not Quite Right). Hailing from New Zealand’s capital city, The Outsiders play passionate post punk/rock that allows plenty of room for pop hooks. Influenced by alternative rock legends that have gone before such as The Replacements, Jawbreaker and Hot Water Music, The Outsiders play music that is honest and passionate.

The band released their debut EP at their first show in Mid-2008 gaining extremely positive reviews:

“The Outsiders are clearly a class act. The songs are strong in every case, with a clear appreciation for layers in song writing to provide depth beyond simple hooks. This is extremely promising stuff and could well herald the arrival of a significant new voice on the national stage.” - punkas.com

The band has toured relentlessly around New Zealand and Australia on the back of their EP, and has supported international heavyweights such as Propagandhi, Lagwagon, Smoke or Fire, and Sommerset. They are currently in the studio recording their debut album set for release November 2009. Prior to the release, The Outsiders are set to play two final New Zealand shows in Wellington and Auckland before they head to Europe/UK for an extensive tour in September/October.

Friday September 11th - Happy, Wellington
w/ The Postures, We the Comedown

Saturday September 12th - Thirsty Dog, Auckland
‘Hellbilly Fest 3’ w/ Dick Dynamite and the Doppelgangers, The Murderchord and The Broadsides
