Just returned from their home base in Oregon The Mint Chicks will take on the mighty King Kapisi in what promises to be a battle of the titans from two different sides of the musical globe.

Two bands, two stages .....one night. The gloves will be off at the Red Bull Soundclash when the two meet it out musically. For one night only, The Mint Chicks will perform head-to-head against King Kapisi to win the favour of the crowd. Who will be crowned the Red Bull Soundclash champion of the world.....you be the judge.

The Contenders:

King Kapisi

Music runs through his synapses, linking the cultural threads like Tetris pieces and spitting out knowledge with every verse, every utterance representing hip hop truth. Over the years he has brought to audiences a mixture of musical genres, which he complements with his rhymes or singing as the king is both talented and multi-skilled.

Commenting on the Red Bull Soundclash against The Mint Chicks the King says, "Even though this is a battle, I have the utmost respect for the boys. I'm really looking forward to the challenge. Bring it on and let's raise the level of kiwi music"

The Mint Chicks

Described by the lead singer "As a futuristic band of troubadours that travelled back in time to record" it's no surprise the Mint Chicks can't stay in one place for too long. Or perhaps they've straddled the fibres of time and space to be both in new-home Portland, Oregon and on our antipodal shores at once?

Their super powers will be put to the ultimate test when they go into a battle for supremacy, head to head style with a NZ hip hop legend.

This will be the musical heavy weight clash of the year where both parties will come in with the gloves off swinging, looking to take the title and be crowned the champions of the Red Bull Soundclash.
