“Oh how it’s been so long
We’re so sorry we’ve been gone
We were busy writing songs for you”
Panic At The Disco - ‘We’re So Starving’

In news that will whip music fans into a frenzy, The Frontier Touring Company is thrilled to confirm the return of Las Vegas rockers Panic At The Disco to Australian and New Zealand shores this August. The Academy Is… will join Panic At The Disco as support on all dates.

Panic At The Disco will return for their biggest shows to date in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and for the first time will take to stages in Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.

Panic At The Disco’s last Australian tour saw all shows sell out in just minutes (as folklore tells it, one show sold out in a mere 12 seconds), cementing their place as one of the world’s most electrifying and in-demand bands.

The last tour left fans thrilled and wanting more, while critics raved about the band’s dynamic performances. Recent sold out shows across Europe have produced similar responses. Manchester Evening News left their local show impressed, announcing Panic At The Disco a “must see live act this year for fans of unconventional rock,” while The Guardian were floored, awarding a recent performance four stars.

Panic At The Disco return to Australia and New Zealand in support of their sophomore album, Pretty. Odd. (released March 29 through Warner Music). Pretty. Odd. signals a change for Panic At The Disco. The mammoth success of their debut album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out – an album written by the band when they were just 17 – could have easily seen Panic At The Disco produce a near identical product and satisfied fans. Instead, the band chose to explore their horizons as they diversify musically, proving beyond doubt that Panic At The Disco are not a passing trend or a one-album wonder. Panic At The Disco are here to save the future of music. And they will.

Rolling Stone were impressed with the Pretty. Odd. offering, declaring: “Even when it's over the top, which is basically always, Pretty. Odd. sounds cheerful, with a broad sense of humor that does honor to the noble legacy of ELO mastermind Jeff Lynne.”

Pretty. Odd. struck a chord with AbsolutePunk.net: “The new album has shaken everything up, with lovers possibly forsaking the band for ditching its synth/dance/pop sound, while the haters may enjoy the band for changing it up. And that within itself is pretty odd.”

Support for all dates will come from the esteemed The Academy Is…. Named as one of Rolling Stone’s top ten artists to watch, The Academy Is… have developed a cult following in Australia following the release, and subsequent tour, of second album Santi. This tour marks the highly anticipated return of The Academy Is… to our shores, who will no doubt gives fans a treat as they showcase material from album #3.
