Cadaver Academy - April NZ Tour 2008

It’s been over a year and half since New Zealand was treated to a tour from Christchurch’s death metallers / death rockers HUMAN. Fans of the band nationwide have been demanding an encore performance in their hometowns since late 2006 and they are now having their wishes granted with HUMAN’s ‘Cadaver Academy NZ Tour’ set to hit Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, New Plymouth and Auckland this April 2008.

HUMAN’s beginnings date back to March 1992 in inner city Christchurch where a one room bedsit was their starting point as a band. Since then they have produced a massive back catalogue of original music, toured several times over, released several music videos, received airplay all over the world and played alongside metal legends the likes of Pungent Stench and Dragonforce. They have gained a large following in the metal underground scene and have earned a reputation as a live act to be
reckoned with. Having a crazy Monty Python meets Napalm Death side to their music has both die hard fans and first time listeners eagerly anticipating the band next movements. Unpredictability is a handy weapon to have in any band’s arsenal – and this group has got it in abundance.

‘Cadaver Academy’ is the working title for HUMAN’s next album, due to be released sometime in 2008. The CD is a follow up to their successful independent release ‘Blood Bucket’ issued in late 2004 /early 2005. HUMAN vocalist / guitarist Scott Spatcher-Harrison had this to say of the new album: “I can honestly say that we have never been more excited about any of our recordings than we are of this one we are working on right now. Cadaver Academy is a self produced effort and we have all the control in the world on how it looks and sounds. Some of our best songs to date are on this CD - and some of our worst lyrics to date too.”

To precede the tour, HUMAN have chosen to release two tracks from the forthcoming album to their MySpace page and to radio stations around the country that support heavy metal music. The songs will be ‘Centrifugal Skin Removal’ and ‘Torched by An Angel’.

In April 2008, New Zealand has it’s chance to witness the HUMAN spectacle once again. For full colour press quality photos, tour poster and music samples please go to: www.human-metal.com/tour
