Smashing Pumpkins and QOTSA
Posted: Sat Feb 2, 2008 11:22 am
Touring New Zealand March 2008 - the Smashing Pumpkins with Queens of The Stone Age!

As the record shows, the Smashing Pumpkins have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in rock music history. Formed in Chicago in 1988, they released Gish, their influential and platinum selling debut, in 1991, followed by further multi-platinum albums that include Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness & Siamese Dream.

The pivotal group’s many hits include ‘Disarm’, ‘Today’, ‘1979’, ‘Tonight Tonight’ and ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’ – songs that defined the alternative music era and continue to resonate on modern rock radio.

Having lit up stages across Europe and the US on the Zietgeist tour, fans and critics alike are raving at the reformation:

On the road, main singer-songwriter and guitarist Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin - with Jeff Schroeder (guitar), Ginger Reyes (bass) and Lisa Harriton (keyboards) - have been performing wide-ranging sets with an “enveloping epic force,” as Richard Cromelin noted in the Los Angeles Times, July 17, 2007.

QOTSA

Josh Homme & the Boys will be back in town to pillage and plunder, taking on all comers!

QOTSA have unleashed another riff-laden gem of an album in “Era Vulgaris” which will be on show along with killer Queen shots from all that’s gone before.

QOTSA first burst onto the world scene in 2000 with their debut “R”, grabbing the world in a headlock with their unique brand of thunderous, straight-for-the-jugular rock and atmospheric psychedelia.

Each album since, including 2002’s “Songs For The Deaf”, 2005’s “Lullabies To Paralyze” and the most recent “Era Vulgaris”, has maintained that proud tradition.

Don’t miss Queens of the Stone Age ROCKING LIKE A BITCH with The Smashing Pumpkins this March in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch!

why do tickets for the 'upper tiers' cost more than 'floor standing one'? (this is for the chch show). What ARE the 'upper tiers' anyway? I thought they are shitty seating seats?
