Here is some info about the bands:

*Killt: Awarded 3rd place in the Nationals of the Battle of the Bands 2002 and also best vocalist, this is a band not to be missed. http://killt.com/

*Apollo Drive: These guys are probably some of the most polished musicians you will see this year - made up of former members of various bands including the Mellatones and Rezin - Apollo Drive live up to their Epic name.

*Ophiuchus: An energetic band made up of dedicated musicians studying the Bachelor of Pop and Jazz at the University of Auckland

*Ishtar: A hardworking hard Rock outfit from Auckland, female fronted with Simon (legend) Ishtar on guitars. http://www.ishtar.muzic.net.nz/

This is tonight...

Make sure you don't miss the first band - Apollo Drive who are on at 8:30, they blow me away everytime I see them!
If you're not doing anything else, make a night of it as Killt, Ophiuchus and Ishtar should not be missed either. Gig is scheduled to finish around 11:30 ish.

Coming to watch this is cheaper than going to see a movie...

It was an awesome gig ! Cool

Apollo Drive were on first, and dazzled the people with their musical professionalism and fancy instrument playing. Chris on guitars I rekon rivaled steve lukather on at least 2 of the solos, Andrew with his two 88 key keyboards (a Korg Triton Extreme and a Roland Fantom) certainly makes them eclectic and fascinating to listen to, Ritchy plays the drums with ferver and Jon on vocals certainly can belt it with tune.

Ophiuchus were on next with boundless energy and enthusiasm, the both Female and Male lead vocals James, Jess and Abe all take turns with the vocals, and this makes them a different sounding band to most. Certainly a set of Epic songs were written and played by these guys. Grunty and F*cken cool.

Killt were awesome and have returned with vengence.. watch out world , this was their first gig since they stopped playing a year and a half ago. They certainly got the crowd going, and I think there were over 100 people there when Killt were playing, and stunning Marcia on lead vocals was definately able to get a reaction out of them. The bass player did very good harmony vocals with the lead, and the guitarist can certainly play. Brent behind the drums also plays in the Cliff Hedley band, who have played a couple of our gigs before and always put on a good show.

Ishtar played a heavier set than usual, and all eyes were on simon's fingers during his solos, as he stood ontop of the speakers,
Singer Mel provided some showy moves to articulate the songs. I can't wait to hear some of the acoustic numbers they will be doing at the Dogs bollix on Oct the 5th... and then there were also those crazy dancing chicks infront of the stage to put a smile on her lovely face. Very Happy
