classic rock? hard rock? any and all out there
Posted: Wed Jun 15, 2005 2:36 am
Cool morning Cool

how many of these bands are out there across the country that are in this gene of music looking for bands like themselves to set up gigs with, only to find they have to mix it up with trashmetallish or thumprock, or some crazed jinglie jungle music that only op-shop clothes wearing mummies car driving people like,
because there's no other hard rock or classic rock bands playing original music in their town/city?

cause i'd like to get bands from around the island to hook up between towns and set up some sort of gig set up that'll help us rock bands get out and playing in front of people more often and doing it in different towns each week with other likwise bands.
and doing it in a tour like set up, any band traveling to another town to do a gig, can set it up with a band in between the towns to do a gig on route.

could work out cheap, even break clean on it.

depends on the

paying
gigs.
but it's for the passion isn't it.
and the road trips

so i'm keen to set something up, make a database whatever.
more ideas and comments?
or am i p*ss*ng in the wind???

i like some of these bands around here that we get to play with, but i'd really like to do a gig here and there and be able to sit back before going on and listening to another rock band doing sh*t i like to do and listen to.

i cam apreciate good musicianship, but i just like the music for the music not the level of talent or knowledge of musicial theory. Cool

If your looking for classic Rock, I rekon that Runninghouse, the Twitch and GON are pretty classic.

Road trips are always fun...

Some bands may gather here:
http://www.therockfactory.net on the forum, but then again, maybe not ;-)

I'm the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist in Six Gun Lover.

If you guys are ever in Dunedin, drop us a line, and maybe we'll be able to get us a slot together somewhere.

We're a rock band influenced by Aerosmith, AC/DC, Velvet Revolver, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Guns N' Roses, the Darkness and so on. We might be the sort of group you're looking for.
