About Supertrip

Supertrip were a high school band formed in late 1997. Originally members of the Linwood Community Rock School, this 5-piece decided to take it to the next level by writing original material. The band would reach their peak in the live scene with various gigs through 1998.

The band started to disintegrate near the end of 1998 after the departure of their original drummer, and also their manager and founder, Rasjad Addison. For a short while, the drummer was replaced temporarily by a Belgian exchange student, while Rasjad was replaced by a friend of his. After a relatively inactive few months in 1999, the band went their separate ways.

Guitarist, Jared Rowbotham, would continue working in the background on the possibility of getting Supertrip back together in the years that followed. Each attempt failed. The most notable 'reunion', however, did take place from 2007-09 when he worked on new recordings of Supertrip's songs with lead vocalist, Stephen Armstrong shortly before he moved to Australia. These recordings would eventually be released online as an EP called Encore, along side of the rest of their recording history.
