This Easter sees one of New Zealand’s biggest musical events take place. Thursday March 24 is the date of UNITY, a 12 hour music festival held across 12 zones and 10 venues in the heart of Christchurch City.

With a line-up comprising of Australasia’s finest acts, over a 100 DJ’s, VJ’s and MC’s will perform. This year sees the addition of a Live Band / Rock Zone at UNITY which ensures that everyone’s tastes are catered for.

From Hard Dance to Hip Hop, Metal to Funk, Disco to Dub even comedy has found a home at UNITY with a special one-hour performance from seasoned comedians ‘The Outwits’

Some artists included in this year’s stellar lineup are:

Sir-Vere & Ali, Dubwize, Misfits of Science, Salmonella Dub, The Upbeats, Shapeshifter, P-Bass Expressway, Jono Fernandez, PQM, (USA), Confucius & Mysterious D, MC Rizla, B-Line, A-Spark, Nomad & MC Antsman, 8 Foot Sativa, Soul Providah, Magnetic Funk, MC MZRE, Terry Whizz, Sean Quinn (AUS).

Located in the heart of the central city Christchurch’s historic Civic is the Main Zone while Carbon hosts the Drum and Bass, Concrete Club has Breaks, Heaven, Progressive, Mansion has House, Zinc brings the Funk, Hip Hop finds a place at Home, Winnie Bagoes has Dub / Dancehall, Base, Hard Dance and Rocky Cola hosts the Live Bands.

For the past five years UNITY has been attracting crowds of over 2,500 people per event, and 2005 looks set to be the biggest UNITY to date!

UNITY is a celebration of music, and a celebration of people – it is certainly a contender for party of the year!

I have a Unity 2005 PDF document - if you would like a copy, send me an email and I'll email one your way. Cool

We're also looking for anyone that might be interested in reviewing Unity for us - let me know if you are interested.
