The entertainment competition series where the best things come in threes returns to Maori Television soon and is looking for new blood.

TORU is a totally unique talent competition series with a twist. Production company Livingstone Productions is on the nationwide search for 27 groups of three people to perform for three minutes on any three instruments of their choice to find the best group of three musos in Aotearoa.

Presented by gifted sisters Te Waipounamu, Te Manawaroa and Tiare Teinakore – aka the T-Sistaz – the series calls for entries via the Maori Television website.

TOHU originally aired in 2005 on Maori Television and saw Gisborne-based hip hop crew Learnerz claim the top accolades. The group, made up of mates from Gisborne Boys High School, sent hearts a flutter with their positive message promoting drug-free, racisim-free and suicide-free lifestyles through their original tune, After Party. The hot threesome has since appeared at numerous events including the Pasifika extravaganza in Auckland and went on to record a $5000 music video as part of the grand prize.

The forms will need to be completed and signed by a consenting adult if entrants are under 18 years of age.
