About the Competition

Amplifier.co.nz in conjunction with Jack Daniels Old No. 7 is giving your band the chance to be the opening act at the 2006 Big Day Out. You'll get to hobnob backstage and meet the local and international stars who'll be performing at Ericsson Stadium that day. You'll also have our photographer document your moment of fame on stage. To sweeten the deal York Street Recording Studios are going to give the winning band a day at their studio, complete with an engineer, to record, edit, mix and master a new single. You can't ask for much more than that.

The public will get to vote and decide who the winning band is. To help them make an informed choice you'll need to upload a track that the public can listen to before they cast their vote. To say thank you all people who cast a vote we'll be drawing one name from the hat every day that the competition runs for. The luck daily winner will receive a ticket to the 2006 Big Day Out. There will also be spot prizes along the way from Amplifier.co.nz and Jack Daniels Old No 7. You can only vote once per day but the more times you vote during the competition the better your chances of winning.

Enter Your Band
To enter you have to have/create an artist page on Amplifier.co.nz and nominate/upload at least one track that will appear on the Live and Local competition page.
