Post your "bad cop" stories here

Sooooooo... the NZ police force has been in the spotlight lately, particularly because the public has lost faith in them, because they seem to be just as likely to be involved in uncouth/criminal/illicit behaviour just as much as Joe-six-pack next door...

Share your stories here guys, I'm keen to see what you've got.

Here's mine:

I was walking down the street on a cold and drizzly day, and I reach an intersection in the Christchurch inner city. I push the button at the pedestrian crossing with my knee, to avoid taking my hands out of my pockets... yeah, call me lazy, but what the hell.

This HUGE cop was standing on the other side of the intersection. He saw me push the button, and immediately huffed his chest out to look like even MORE of a tough guy as I approached. He immediately pulled me over, and started drilling me for "vandalism" Rolling Eyes Ignoring the fact I was more gentle with my knee than most people are with their hands.

This prick yelled at me and drilled me and almost arrested me.... apparently answering questions that he asks me equated to "being smart".

When he asked me what I do for a living, I replied "Graphic Designer". His attitude changed COMPLETELY and he let me go.

If I said "bricklayer" or "unemployed" no doubt he'd have dragged me into the slammer.

Bottom line: This cop was doing "the beat" on a shitty day and he was grumpy. He saw a guy wearing black and went OH YEAH. That's it.

Story 2:

Long story short... bunch of hippies and students, a trance DJ, and some beer in a ChCh flat. Pretty mellow, just a bunch of friends celebrating a birthday. No fights, no screaming, yahoo'ing etc. No smashing of bottles, no death metal bands.

NO WARNING from noise control either.

The cops just BARGED RIGHT IN
CLOBBERED EVERYBODY
and arrested a bunch of my friends
I managed to avoid any trouble, but my 2 friends I invited were assaulted by police. One was punched in the throat and dragged on the ground, grazing his entire right arm... but HE got the fine and day in court. W-T-F!!!

Needless to say I'm not fond of our boys in blue (having said that, I've had positive encounters, but they're few and far-between, sadly).

I thought there might be some sort of code of decency these guys have to follow... clearly not.

Anybody else got any similar stories to add??

haha funny.

I've never really had much personal experience of these sorts, but I have to admit, I do not feel safe, even in the obvious presence of the police.
