RE: regular users login Posted: Sun Aug 27, 2006 11:28 pm Yup. Not going to happen on this current version of the website, however it is a feature that is already included in the new version. |

RE: regular users login Posted: Mon Aug 28, 2006 10:29 am ...and if you have multiple windows open, everytime you think you're logging in you're actually logging out! |

RE: regular users login Posted: Mon Aug 28, 2006 1:39 pm Each time you open a new window, you're creating a new login session with the server. We only allow one session per user, so yes you will be logged out. However, if you create the new window from an existing one (either by opening a link in a new window, or by hitting Ctrl-N) then you will still be logged in, in that new window. We do this all the time when updating things on the site, since you need about 3-4 windows open to do this efficiently. |

RE: regular users login Posted: Mon Aug 28, 2006 4:55 pm I just tried this in Firefox, and if the tabs you've opened are contained within the same Firefox window, then session data is shared between them. This means that if I login using one tab, then all of the other tabs will be logged in as well - but keep in mind that the other tabs won't show you as being logged in until you reload the page. Tabs actually make the whole thing easier! |

For example, if I go to reply to the first one, I must login... so I do. Then after I confirm that post, I go to the next tab... of course that tab doesn't show that I'm logged in so I have to log in to reply... typing in my username and password in effect logs me out I got myself right flustered when this scenario was loopped 5 or so times But when I realised what I was doing I figured out how to avoid it, so it's no problem. Firefox rules by the way |
