Whoever advised me to go listen to Vision 100; a thousand thank yous! And everyone else out there, I heavily stress that this is all kiwi radio in a league of its own.

I miss channel z too! But the chances of it coming back are... well.. oh come on it's not going to come back!
Lets just make the most of what we've got. I'm only just starting to tolerate Kiwi and it is improving. I know, we're all hurt and anguished over the loss or our ONLY GOOD ALTERNATIVE GOOD ROCK RADIO but there's a place for Kiwi and New Zealand needs all the support it can get. The stations just having teething problems I reckon.

I admit to signing the petition though Neutral maybe there's hope....

What's the metal station in Auckland? Is it Sleet fm?

The only time I listen to th radio now is in the car. And I'm constantly changing the station trying to find a good song. I might get the odd good one from the Edge, the Rock, ZM or More Fm, even Kiwi. But when Channel Z was in the waves, I would just leave it on that, and almost every song was good.

I think what it comes down to is this: Would you rather listen to Kiwi FM or would you rather listen to Channel Z? If you had the choice...yea, I'd pick Channel Z too.

Whats Vision 100? Despite, how I hate Kiwi Fm for replacing Channel Z, and the fact that I don't think theres enough NZ music to support a whole station, I'd be interested to see what it is. Also, for some reason I seem to be bying more NZ artist albums...

Good on KiwiFM for trying something different but they're just not cutting it in my opinion. The breakfast show is the worst! They're at the point now where if they play one of their gameshow's that they have to actually beg people to call in....not cool for a station that's got national coverage.

I'm listening to BFM mostly now, and although Camilla Martin (a.k.a. Lisa Simpson) is not the worlds most intelligent DJ, the variety of music is better. Channel Z will never come back but they'll need something to replace Kiwi when it finally crashes and burns!

Vision 100FM is an online Radio Station - www.vision100.com - if I remember rightly.
It's run from Palmerston North too. I used to see the guy that runs it in Mango Music quite often.

Just thought I'd make a post so this discussion gets pushed to the front, enabling potential signatures for ones that don't know about this yet...

I got into such a habit of listening to Bombz on Sunday Night Talk back. still miss listening to him. He was an inspiration to the youth of NZ. There nothing that speaks to "the youth of today" like Bombz did. Do we miss bomber or do we miss the Z?

i miss hearing decent alternative music on the radio too.Kiwi is alright, but i'd prefer Z. Kiwi isnt big enough to fill the gap that Z left, and the Rock doesnt quite play what i want to hear either.

Without the Z, Who is Big Day Out 2006? Rolling Eyes

very good point.

we all miss channel z, but probably bomber the most, Z plays awesome alternative music, but i honestly hate the rapcore shit they play sometimes, but besides that, its all good.
