Wouldn't it suck if Rod Stewart came? Just a thought.

Yeah good to hear Alice Cooper is coming too ... still got my fingers crossed for Rob Zombie though.

Baphomet, did you just mention DOWN???

Cuz that would RULE!

As much as I wanna smash Phil Anselmo in the face with a shovel, they're a great band.

take that te_chris. you see its so easy to criticize someone bout their music (even though i dout u have a musical bone in ur body) but then people with some actual musical knowledge (me not included) will come along and kick ur ass for it. ha ha

this will definatly be the highlight of my year

I'm glad you're so easily amused. You must be a real knee slapper in real life.

Kainos, I do apologise for being so scathing about your band, next time I'll make sure I pass judgement that is absolutely, 100% inoffensive. Or, just as easily, blow it up your ass like all the other bogans on here.

I'm sorry, I really just don't like your brand of Westie-Metal, and I have huge problems with the way WBOB was run, perhaps combining both of you in a tirade wasn't fair, but then again...I do want to congratulate you guys for getting there (truthfully) it will be an awesome gig, and I can't begrudge you guys that.

In another related yet unrelated note, however, I have it on good authority that you guys behaved like absolute rock stars when you came down to Dunedin, then barely even drew a crowd, despite massive postering, then blamed the venue owner. So again, perhaps I should've left your music out of it, but I think this is crap. No band has a right to act like spoilt princesses towards a venue who had been doing their best to accommodate you. This has heavily biased me away from you guys, so if you can rebut against that, please do, but this is one thing that angers me most about bands that get a small lick of publicity then think they can treat the people who have the most say in their careers like shit.

Oh and Baphomet, before you go calling out people for knowing nothing about music, I've spent the last 3 years and a shit load of money on immersing myself in everything to do with music by studying it @ uni, so think before you post and go fuck yourself.

Flame away.

It's time to let by gones be by gones, I actually felt quite sorry for him when he wasn't allowed to attend Dimebag's funeral I know what he said blah blah blah but thats pretty ratshit that he didn't get to pay his respects.

My dislike of Phil has NOTHING to do with Dimebag, but EVERYTHING to do with the verbal diahrreah he has on stage, all the aggro he's fired towards his FANS.. as well as his substandard performance, crap vocals, overt drunken-ness, and air of arrogance. He let the band down (who in my opinion played a 10/10 show).

He blew his voice out in the 90's and it's never recovered.

But as far as the Dimebag thing goes... it's all well and good to get all upset AFTER it all happened... if you love your friends, then it's best to show them while they're alive.

If he's hurt, it serves him right. Chalk it up to another lesson in life.

Sigh... Here we go.
As I said earlier, I don't expect everyone to like us, be as offensive as you wish... But at least have reliable information if you are to make such claims about our attitudes.
First of all, westie-metal? What the? I have nothing to say to that, other than I can't stand Lion Red! So well done.
Secondly, your 'good authority' doesn't sound anything representative of what I remember it being like down in Dunedin.
Acting like rockstars... Hmm... Does that mean arriving at venue with a promised full PA only to find absolutely no monitors what so ever, nor any mic stands is acting like 'spoilt princesses'? I think you would find most bands would be a little disappointed. Which is what we were. Disappointed. I was most disappointed to find out we were playing upstairs, when downstairs was another band with a full setup, but this was something different entirely... Next, I'm approached by the bar owner/manager of whom I've never spoken to in my life and am accused of being "Not what they expected either". What were they expecting? Interesting. We didn't refuse to play, we played and we filled the room that was given to us. All of whom in attendance said they had a bloody good time. In fact for me, it was one of the best dates on the whole tour (considering).
If you must know the true extent of our tour troubles, we had a tour manager who was running the whole thing. Thus it wasn't up to us to do much else than get to the venue and play. But this turned into something to be wary of as mis-communication led things down roads that were slightly uncomfortable. Such as, it wouldn't have mattered had we been informed that the PA didn't come with monitors because we simply wouldn't have played/booked the gig, but seeing as we were told that there would be and had advertised the show... We really had to play and, of course we wanted to. But how could our keyboardist have played without monitors? Oh, and massive postering? For the gig downstairs yes! Not ours! ETC! In my honest opinion, unless you were there... a fly on the wall so to speak... Then the whole thing is totally up in the air. You can side with who you like if there's nothing better to do but I just wish there was nothing to side against in the first place. I know the importance of treating people correctly, we know we have no right to act like we're anything more than what we are, which at this point, is just another struggling band.
I'll make no claims against you, I don't know you... I haven't worked with you. Until you do the same, then your heading in the direction that you yourself are speaking against.
To be honest, we do not know what was said behind our backs between the bar and the tour manager... But it is sad that such things get laid on our camp instead of the entities involved. We just wanted to play the show!
Also, studying music at Uni doesn't give you much of an idea of what the real world is like touring and the rest of it... But I won't assume so much of you, as you have of us. I find it unbecoming.
Oh and finally,
Please stop bringing us into your seemingly seething views of Intergalactic/WBOB. We entered and we got through. That's it. We aren't running the place for fucks sake!
End of rebut.

Lastly, after my defense... Personally, I find it really sad that you would come onto a public board and try to sway peoples opinions against us. For someone who supposedly understands the industry and knows how hard it is to work your way up, you seemed to be really making a concious effort to make sure people know how crap we are, with your evidence being that WBOB is badly organised and that we are spoilt princesses. If you want to discuss my 'shit band' more, message me for my email or something.

For those others of you on here, please swing over to our myspace and listen for yourself. I believe you'll find no westie-metal whatsoever, or am I wrong?

Heh, my experience with Dunedin venues hasn't exactly been the best.

Asking for a stage that doesn't leak is a "rockstar-ish" request it seems. As is other such outlandish things, like toilets with doors, bathrooms with taps you can actually turn on, or punters who can still stand and don't pass out on the stage.

Hahaha, awesome copout.

And that "cliche" didn't refute anything. All it does is prove the opposing point and that you've conceded. If arguing was pointless, you'd have kept your pie hold closed in the frist place.

te_chris the fact that you study music at uni doesn't impress me, it still doesn't give you the right to give shit to people who are trying to make a career of their own music. you are a wAnker.

oh and btw i (with my simpleton mind) actually like westie metal (not from west auck nor do i think that sonic altar are westie metal) so don't start giving them shit either.

I guess we've blown it now though...

Where I moderate (another forum) I'd close a thread or start deleting stuff for getting off topic like this.

The scene is hard enough without this highscool bulls..t making things more difficult.

[MOD EDIT] I just let it run it's course because it was concerning a band playing at Rock2Wgtn. I now consider the issue closed and any further posts on the matter in this thread will be removed.
