Search for a new lead singer. Yeah okay ..doh!

But isn't this series a whole lot better than NZ Idol????

The wanabees on "Rock Star:Inxs" can actually belt out a tune, and work the sudience,

Idol Idles just stand there and bleat a tune....jeez it's dull

I agree. The contestants at rockstar actually know music, so there's an advantage there. and they can actually sing.

i still think the whole audition for lead singer + turning it into reality tv show is a real stupid idea, and just some money making scheme. plus, after this show, i totally lost respect (well, not respect, but like, i dont think he's cool anymore) for dave navarro.

i reckon they'd pick a winner, they'd record, tour, etc etc, then they'd probably break up and ditch the winner. you just cant simply find your voice in an audition. not everyone's velvet revolver, and scott weiland's already an established rockstar at that time.

how can you take reality tv seriously.

inxs was the shit, but my view of them dropped %500 when i heard they were doing a reality tv show.

cos in reality tv, its not about the music, its about the money.

Of course its about the money and I get sick of reality shows but this one is pretty good. We get to see - arguably - the cream of the wannabees. And they belt out some good performances.
I watched some of Idol last night. Fell asleep.
It was like a really sad karaoke night at the local boozer

i agree that a chick shouldnt be fronting INXS, the idea of seeing a young woman fronting a band full of oldies is pretty creepy to me. i reckon the girls are in just for the sex bit of the contest, they need male viewers to boost the ratings too.

and dont diss the black dude, there's nothing wrong with a mohawk, and he was crying only because he was trying something different or whatever, and unlike another black guy on "idol", he can actually sing.

It's all about equality these days ..even if making everything equal wastes a whole lotta people's time and effort.
See they got rid of 2 females last night. Good call.
I've watched this one from the 1st episode and have picked Marty.
(Not that I give a toss about INXS)

The NZ contestant of INXS:

The Rock sponsored the NZ heats of the INXS comp, a guy from Auckland got through and was all ready to head over to Hollywood in May but got his visa denied by the US. They weren't too keen to have someone with so many DUI and drug related offenses on their record.

For the few of us that know this guy; there is some irony in the fact that all of the drugs and alcohol he consumed to live out his rock star fantasy is the very thing that cost him his only chance of living it out for real. The concept of karma is alive and well Laughing

i reckon that this is a giant waste of time i watched it a couple of times but then (like idol) got sick of the same people (minus 1 each time) singing songs in front of people who think they know the songs every single episode!

lmao at the NZ guy. cool to know that someone from new zealand actually got through though, i mean, everyone in the comp seems to be american or something, which INXS ironically arent.

gaint waste of time is true, but it beats idol any day. at least the rockstar contestants can actually sing, regardless of whether you know the song or not

i disagree. not ALL of the cntestants can sing, if we're going to generalise then "people on new zealand idol can sing too". Laughing

If anyone is interested, a little gossip is Marty and his band Lovehammers are going to open for the INXS tour in the US, don't know if they'll get over here though!
