Themes of personal growth coupled with meaningful songwriting weave throughout the intimately written 5-track EP. As an established audio engineer/producer, EM delves into new textures and moods to create an immersive experience; with sparse electric guitars featuring in songs such as
The Love And The Fight and dreamy vocals in tracks such as Undergrowth. Amongst the gorgeous indie-pop production, is a constant reflection of life, and a unique insight into the mind of EM.

“I had this realisation that I wanted to let myself be bold about my feelings and grow in who I am, without being scared of committing to the things I treasured in case I lost them,” explains EM. “ I didn’t know what direction my life was taking, but I wanted to savor the moments of potential. The writing of this EP has spanned a really special part of my life.”

Recorded, mixed and mastered across multiple studios including Parachute Studios, Big Pop, and Big Fan, Undergrowth also features a vast array of exceptional collaborators, including Tuva’a Clifton (bass), Amy Boroevich (bass), Christian Tjandrawinata (guitar), and Tom Broome (drums) playing on different tracks. Manuela Ovalle Herrera and Amelia Murray (Fazerdaze) also featured by way of giving advice and support on the project.

Also out today is the lead single Bonfire. Encapsulating the trance-like intimate feel of sitting around the warm flames, the track is emotional, freeing and introspective; swirling in stacked vocals, a pulsing rhythm section and a gorgeous hammond organ.

“I remember sitting around the bonfire at my brother's house and reflecting on how far myself and my siblings have come over the past 10 years or so,” reflects EM. “We were feeling the therapeutic atmosphere of the bonfire and reflecting on life, how things could have gone, where they will go, what we could be in the future.”
