The Response share new single 'Stuck In Your Head'

16 October 2021 - 0 Comments

Christchurch based indie duo The Response embrace a bright and bouncy sound palette for their new song Stuck In Your Head.

Amid the monotonous scenes of the lockdown era, vocalist Andy Knopp daydreams “How far to London? How far to anywhere but here?” atop a foundation of Moog bass and drum machines. The chorus provides escapism through music, offering to “melt away the fears that just go unsaid”. The lush production, punctuated by heavily effected guitar and synthesized bleeps and bloops, brings to mind indie darlings Super Organism and Vampire Weekend.

The accompanying pixelated video is a nod to Zoom calls with dodgy WiFi, and displays each of the instruments featured in the song, giving a rare insight into the duo’s production process and the home studio they create all of their own music from, as well as for a multitude of other New Zealand acts.
