Band & Musician News - Michael Morris & The Slow Loris release 'Pseudoephedrine' today

Michael Morris & The Slow Loris release 'Pseudoephedrine' today

10 December 2020 - 0 Comments

Dunedin based artist Michael Morris will tour New Zealand this coming summer, celebrating the first single release from his upcoming sophomore album. Titled Pseudoephedrine, the upbeat track is now available and subtly alludes to confusion and hysteria surrounding the previous US presidency.

Recently arriving home following two years living in France, the alternative rock musician (formerly of The River Jesters and Live Like Lions) will unite with Ryan Finnie (drums) and Benton Glassey (bass) to form a new group The Slow Loris – Together playing 11 live shows, from Te Anau to Auckland throughout January.

The new album, set for release next year, was recorded around various European studios and features 15 new songs, ranging from heavy rock to soft ballad style. The video accompanying Pseudoephedrine (set for release on 14th January) was filmed inside the 11th century Loir Valley castle of Chateaudun and portrays a ludicrous dreamscape fantasy, set in medieval France, complete with zombies, drag queens, sword fights and horses.

Michael is excited to get back out into playing live shows with a fresh new band, following a long break during the Covid 19 sagas. “Creating this new record has proved an immense challenge, taking a lot of time and energy, so I’m very excited to share the result with people and I can’t wait to get out and play it live on tour”.
