Kaizen mofos

Bio

Now becoming well established in the South Island rock scene, this modest four-piece are reknowned for bringing the hard work and sweat to make things happen. Not only do they have enthusiasm and drive on their side, they have the genuine talent required to blow away an unsuspecting audience with their original brand of melodic, high-energy rock. Kaizen Mofos lead singer/guitarist Andrew Pearson now calls New Zealand home after growing up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He joined up with local Christchurch musicians Dave Gee, Troy Meikle, and Dan Clutterbuck, to form Kaizen Mofos in September 2006. “The thing I like about NZ music is that Kiwis really understand the D.I.Y mentality — they are passionate about it in their personal lives and the Kaizen Mofos have embraced D.I.Y from day one. None of us knew each other from a bar of soap in the beginning and our gear was budget at best, but I’ve really enjoyed building it from the ground up and I’m stoked to look back and see how far we’ve come.” says Andrew. Since then, the band have been relentlessly writing, recording, performing, and shaping their sound. September 2009 saw the release of their debut EP ‘Eye for an Eye’, recorded and mastered by Ian McAllister. This was followed by a successful EP release show at The Dux de Lux. 2010 was a busy year for Kaizen Mofos, from recording their debut singles ‘Last Goodbye’ and ‘Intoxication’, making the finals in the Jim Beam Homegrown band search competition, and featuring as front page headliners of the Timaru Herald when they took their show on the road for the first time ever. “2010 was a really great year for us, everything seemed to take a second gear, and it was nice to see our hard work start to pay off. We’ve put a lot of time into writing new material and it’s exciting to see how tightly the band has gelled over the last four years. It’s been lot of fun and I’m looking forward to see the band continue to grow.” says Dave. Heading into 2011 the boys are hard at work putting new tracks together for their first full length album, with plans in place to have this released later in the year and backed up with a national tour.
