Goodwill

Bio

Goodwill is the solo project of producer and artist Will McGillivray. Previously of chart topping, award nominated band nomad, Will cut his teeth touring overseas and playing major NZ festivals. Following the break up of nomad, hunkered down in his Christchurch home studio, Goodwill is now endeavoring on a darker musical path.

Leaning into a love of dissonant guitars, droning analog synths, grainy lo-fi and longing melody, Goodwill’s recent musical venture is introspective and cathartic. Following the release debut EP Incontrol featuring Get Angry, Getting Better and Clinging Onto You, Goodwill’s sound has earned him a nomination for ‘Best New Artist’ at the Rolling Stone NZ Awards, multiple top 3 chart placements on the Hot NZ Singles chart, countless top spots on significant international Spotify editorial playlists, extensive radio play in New Zealand and Australia, an article in the August AU + NZ Rolling Stone Issue.

Will’s been busy with his live band of late, including supporting on a 14 date tour for Sir Dave Dobbyn.
