Status

Bio

The Band known as Status has had many other band names. Eg. Kronikal, Saverac. The Group disagreed with these names because a) Kronikal sounded too try hard and b) Saverac sounded like something you put on your ass when you've taken too much (according to Anthony's guitar teacher Paul).

The Band joined together purely for the Smokefree Rockquest in 2001. Chris and Anthony had been playing together for 3 years prior so Anthony and Chris teamed up. They first got in a drummer. James Kaitini Moana. But things with him didn't work out. So Chris scouted Tom who he'd never talked too before, but played in this school jazz band with him.

They had a couple of practises together before Anthony decided that they needed a new guitarist. Sam Ohnus joined. The band (known as Kronikal) entered the Smokefree Rockquest and eventually played in the semi-finals of the regionals. Sam wasn't working out for them so they tried out Matt Morgan for a while. He didn't work out well either so in came Simon Oscroft. The band also wanted a singer. Enter Scott Pemb (can't spell his last name.) Things didn't work with Scott and he was recently discharged from the group.

Simon left after he complained the band was going nowhere. Anthony moved back to guitar and Status found an awesome singer.

This is live at Albany Hall at the Shore Youth Band's Comp Finals. It's pretty cool quality. Our guitarist stuffed up at the end, but this is an awesome song

I worked hard on that site. And I still am working hard on it to make it interactive for the users so they keep coming back!
