Mark Mclachlan

Bio

A funk/rock musician with a unique blues-infused guitar-driven sound coaxing all manner of tones from overdriven feedback and roaring distortion to beautiful clean, crisp sound waves and melodies that loves the number of compositions that can be made using the beautiful guitar. Mark is based in Taranaki, New Zealand, and is driven to find sounds that make you stop and listen and provide a meditative quality that helps you transcend the moment and get lost in the melody.

Mark has been working since he released his debut EP Settled Vibrations, recorded with Sam Johnson at Rhythm Ace Studios with single tracks Nothing Left To Say and All Your Dreams (released in late 2022 and early 2023) on new tracks being recorded throughout the first half of 2023.

A range of genres sonically inspire Mark, and all sounds are explored in the music. Still, ultimately the undeniable pull of funky riffs leads this sound to be the dominant theme whilst exploring relaxed melodies in tracks to create a balanced listening experience.

The music takes elements from classic blues tracks, R&B and rock and embodies the golden sound of the guitar with a forward-thinking ideology.
