Scott J Mason

Bio

Scott J Mason is a solo musician, songwriter and composer based in Auckland.

His career blossomed at 14 when asked to play piano at the Fuschia Society Christmas party in Blenheim, presided over by his mother.

Originally from the South Island, Mason made his name in the NZ music scene drumming and singing for many bands, including nationally known acts Gasoline Cowboy, Slim, and Fuce.

In this capacity he has toured with acts such as Shihad, The Finn Brothers, Tool, The Melvins, Salmonella Dub and many more national and international artists.

Scott is currently drumming for local talents Mulholland and Gareth Thomas.

Now pursuing a career in songwriting and composition, Scott has begun seriously producing his own material - his debut home-produced 7-track EP Animal Guilt due for release on October 31st 2014.

Mason’s songs are tales of adult angst shrouded in epic musical melodies and structures...songs of loss, sorrow, death, love, hope, and the end of the world as we know it...
