Eight call it a day
Posted: Wed May 25, 2005 4:27 pm
Seems to be a common trend at the moment, all these bands splitting up.

Anyway, Eight have decided to call it quits after nine years together. But it's not all bad, you can still catch them live in their final performances:

Eight Announce Nationwide Winter Tour
Posted: Tue Jun 15, 2004 6:28 pm
Auckland band Eight are pleased to announce that they will tour the country in July and August, playing a whopping 26 shows - their most extensive tour yet!

The tour kicks off at The Queenstown Winter Festival on June 29th.

Formed in 1996, Eight have had plenty of time to work on their live show, which has garnered critical acclaim:

"Eight blew all present away. With eyes closed and heads back, they put such energy into their music that it could have been a stadium we were all sitting in - all equally gobsmacked by the performance." nzoom

Eight released their debut album 'Moving' in March this year, which hit the national Album Chart's Top 20 and received rave reviews:

"Eight have a rock sound that is so catchy it will stay with you for a long time. It's powerful and dynamic and performed with heart and passion. The sound is precise, clear and quite simply, so unified and together that it reminds one of a more rock n' roll-type Dimmer. Moving is a welcome addition to New Zealand music and will be a standout Kiwi album for years to come «««««" Ripitup

'Moving' contains the tracks 'Whale', 'Moments Gone', 'No Way To Decide' (which went to #1 on the rock radio airplay charts nationwide) and the brand new single 'Centre of Me'.

They will be joined on the tour by Opshop. Tickets are available from Red Tickets at local Postshops nationwide, or online at www.redtickets.co.nz, with limited door sales available on the night.
