Sandra Bell

Bio

Sandra Bell is well known in Dunedin and the American College Radio scene for her brand of rollicking dark indie rock music. Sandra's fourth album White Nights was written mostly in Berlin where she lived from 2001-2006 was released through Powertool Records.

Sandra began her musical career in Auckland in the late 80's with recording on Industrial Tapes. Other releases included Marie and the Atom and the Kiwi Animal. On her move South she teamed up with Peter Jefferies (This Kind of Punishment) who produced her first solo album Dreams of Falling. Released by the legendary label Xpressway in New Zealand in '92 and on a Belguim label worldwide. This brought her international recognition in the Indie music scene, leading to a tour of the US with Peter Jefferies and Alaster Galbraith in '94. In '95 she released Net on the Dunedin label IMD, which also met with critical acclaim.

Relocated to Berlin in '96 at the encouragement of some German fans and in '99 she released City of Sorrows on USA label VHF. White Nights is her first release for this millennium.
