Does anyone know what has happened to the members of Garageland? Apparently Black Drum is no more either... I never heard them.

Garageland Escape Killer Tornado!
Posted: Tue Nov 19, 2002 7:41 pm
Jeremy Eade and Dave Goodison from Garageland continue to showcase and schmooze their way through the US to promote the Scorpio Righting LP there. And Dave has been checking in regularly to keep us up to date:

"It's just been a whirlwind. Literally. The day after we drove through Ohio 70 tornados killed 34 people! And I thought New York was dangerous! As for that, watch out Auckland, after driving in NYC and taking on the cabbies AND WINNING, I'm going to be nightmare on the roads when I get back. We played at the Uncommon Ground in Chicago, which is a fantastic coffee house venue with a great clientele. Jeff Buckley used to play there and they hold an annual tribute show with artists from around the world attending. We were invited to be a part of it but our schedule didn't allow it, oh well.

"Visited Chess records here as well as a couple of blues clubs and the amazing Field Museum of Chicago. Back in Seattle and onto the home stretch though now."

Garageland-ers Feeling The Hippy Thing
Posted: Fri Oct 25, 2002 4:29 pm
Thanks to Median Strip for this story:

Garageland (or part of) embark on a series of 'tasteful acoustic showcases' in the US this week ahead of the release of Scorpio Righting there.

Jeremy Eade and Dave Goodison are lined up for 16 gigs.

Dave reports from the road: "We're hangin' in San Fran right now, in between shows. Did a walking tour of the Haight-Ashbury district yesterday to get a feel for the whole hippy thing... it's more like Ponsonby Road now though. We're actually here on the 35th anniversary of the Summer of Love, and today there's a big free concert with the likes of Love, Big Brother Holding Company, Country Joe Fish and Canned Heat playing, so I guess that's art for today."

"The Phoenix Hotel we're staying at has it's own night club, so it's been pretty difficult to sleep the last couple of nights, so a nice cruisy day in the park sounds good!"
