FIRST TOUR FOR MAGNUM OPUS

Kapiti metal band Magnum Opus kick off their first tour at the end of March, travelling around New Zealand to promote their band and to get their name out there.

The melodic metal band will start with the lower north island, will then head up to the top of the North Island, and lastly, will hit the south island for the first time later on in the year.

"We just want to spend our free time travelling around and playing as much gigs as possible, to as many towns as possible, to as many metal-heads as possible."

The band are playing both all ages and R18 gigs and door prices will range from $5- $15.

Magnum Opus will be playing a mixture of songs from both of their E.Ps, 'The Nightshade of Lycanthropy' (2005) and 'Magnum Opus' (2006) also adding some new songs into the mix. They are looking at releasing an album early next year.

The tour will see Magnum Opus playing with other metal bands, starting off with New Zealand's well known metal band Sinate.

The band includes Reuben Fergusson on vocals and guitar, Kieran Gallagher on guitar, Tim Mekallick on drums, and newcomer Isaac (Izzy) Stewart on bass and back up vocals.

March 30 - Wellington - Zeal [ALL AGES] with Sinate
March 31 - Wellington - The Adelaide with Sinate
April 13 - New Plymouth - Basement Bar [ALL AGES] with Wrath
April 13 - New Plymouth - Basement Bar with Made of Iron
April 14 - Hawera - Axe Throwers MC with Agent
April 27 - Palmerston North - The Stomach [ALL AGES] with Cathedra
April 28 - Palmerston North - Bar Mode with Nekrotika
May 4 - Lower Hutt - Flashbacks with Made of Iron
May 5 - Napier - Milonga Bar with Gunt
